Queensland Weather

45 cities: climate averages from Open-Meteo

Queensland is home to remarkably diverse climate zones. This dataset covers 45 major population centres across the state. You'll find average temperatures, annual rainfall, and comfort scores based on temperature, humidity, rainfall, and sunshine. Use this to plan trips, compare regions, or understand local weather patterns.

Every state has its hot spots, cold spots, and wet zones. Here's what stands out across Queensland. The cards below show which cities experience the highest average temperatures, lowest overnight minimums, heaviest rainfall, and lowest rainfall patterns in our dataset.

All data in this dataset comes from the Open-Meteo Historical Weather API, sourced from official weather station networks and reanalysis models. Data reflects averages across the full 2024 calendar year. Each city includes monthly averages for maximum and minimum temperatures, total rainfall, the number of rainy days, solar exposure measured in megajoules per square metre, and relative humidity at the time of maximum daily temperature. Our comfort score synthesises these factors to rate each month from 1 (harsh conditions) to 10 (ideal), helping you find the best times to visit.

The spread from 3.5 to 7.8 reflects genuine climate diversity within Queensland. Elevation, distance from the coast, and latitude all play a role in shaping local conditions. Coastal cities average a comfort score of 7.1 compared to 6.6 inland, reflecting the moderating influence of the ocean on temperature extremes and humidity.
