Contact
Get in touch about a data error, an attribution question, or anything else to do with the climate data on this site.
By email
Email [email protected]. The address is encoded to slow scrapers down, your browser decodes it on click.
This is the right address for:
- Errors in the climate data. If a number on a location page looks wrong to you, send us the URL and what you think the right number should be. We will check against the source dataset.
- Missing locations. If your town or suburb is not on the site and you think it should be, let us know. We add locations in batches, prioritised by population and by distance to existing weather stations.
- Attribution requests. If you want to reproduce a chart, table, or page from this site in a publication, blog post, or product, see the terms page first and email us if anything is unclear.
- Methodology questions. If you want to know why the comfort score weights humidity the way it does, or what version of the SILO grid we used, ask. We are happy to talk about how the numbers are made.
- Press and partnerships. If you are a journalist or a researcher working on Australian climate reference data, we can usually help.
Response time
RefDat is a small independent operation. We aim to respond to email within five working days. Data corrections are usually faster because we can verify them against the source dataset directly. Methodology and partnership questions sometimes take longer because we want to give you a real answer rather than a templated one.
What we cannot help with
RefDat Weather is not a forecaster. We cannot tell you what the weather will be like next week. For forecasts, see the Bureau of Meteorology or your preferred weather app.
We cannot provide official climate data for legal or insurance purposes. For that, contact the Bureau of Meteorology directly or use their data licensing service.
We do not take advertising enquiries via email. The site runs Google AdSense; if you want to reach our audience, that is the channel.
Postal mail
We do not list a postal address publicly. If you need one for legal reasons such as a formal notice, email us first and we will reply with the appropriate details.
Other RefDat sites
If your enquiry is about another site in the RefDat network rather than climate data, the right contact addresses are:
- postcodes.refdat.com for suburb demographics
- fuelprices.refdat.com for fuel and EV pricing
- gluten.refdat.com for the gluten food database
- ndis.refdat.com for the NDIS Trust Index
- convert.refdat.com for unit converters
The admin@refdat.com address reaches all of them.
